
Balti fans beware - unless you live in Brum’s famed ‘Balti Triangle’, that is. Birmingham City Council says it wants to have the name ‘Balti’ protected by law - which could mean that restaurants outside the city are banned from using it.
Legend has it that the first ever Balti was created by new arrivals from Pakistan in the early 1970s. These days, it’s a rare town that doesn’t have at least one Balti house. The Curry Master says: sorry Brum, a decent Balti is far too good to keep to yourselves!
