Impressive but not without fault I have lived just up the road from Raj for a few months and have only now tried their food. After being told how good they were I think it's safe to say I went in with unrealistic expectations. That is not to say by any means the food was bad; it most certainly was not. I do however like to see plenty of vegetables in a curry, regardless of whether or not what I order is vegetarian or not and unfortunately my main seemed devoid of any veg beyond a couple of cross sectioned chillies and a sliver of tomato. The flavour of the dish however was strong and the meat was well cooked and flavoursome, my only real complaint being that it was a rather small portion - especially for the price. The service I received was excellent, my take away was ready and waiting for me by the time I arrived and it cost less than expected. All in all a very good restaurant from whom I shall be ordering again.A curriesonline Contributor | 31 May 2010 amazing restaurant raj mahal is my favourite Curry house. The staff are always friendly and helpful and if we request a dish that isn't on the menu it is never any trouble. The level of service we receive from raj mahal is top class and the food is outstanding.
